Figs
The pleasure derived from eating a luscious ripe fig is extraordinary. With its sweet, honeyed taste and soft texture, it is best eaten alone but it is also lovely wrapped in thinly sliced prosciutto as an antipasto, stuffed with walnuts, or fried with honey and butter. You can also try spaghetti with anchovies and figs, or beef fillet with mustard and figs. It lowers and control high blood pressure (due to the potassium), and increases bone density (due to the calcium).
